Carrie is my Valentine
Carrie is my Valentine,
A fantasy come true,
Reminding me that fortune can
Reenter what we do.
I said what words were in my heart,
Each far more than I knew.

My teacher’s very special
so I’m making her a heart,
a valentine that’s sure to be
a proper work of art.
I’ve worked on it all morning
so it should be ready soon,
I’d like to slip it on her desk
before this afternoon.
It’s colored in with crayons
and it’s trimmed with paper lace,
it has flowers, hearts, and cupids –
I can’t wait to see her face.

Deare, when I from thee am gone,
Gone are all my joyes at once;
I loved thee, and thee alone,
In those love I joyed once,
And although your sights I leave,
Sight wherein my joyes do lie,
Till that death do sense bereave,
Never shall affection die.

All love, at first, like generous wine,
Ferments and frets until ’tis fine,
But, when ’tis settled on the lee,
And from th’ impurer matter free,
Becomes the richer still the older,
And Proves the pleasanter the colder

Good day to you, Valentine
Curl your locks as I do mine
Two before and three behind
Good day to you, Valentine.
